Dermapen
What is Dermapen?
Although Dermapen is one of the classic skin rejuvenation treatments that has been applied for a long time, it is an effective application that continues to be widely used for the purpose of removing wrinkles, lightening the skin tone, treating enlarged pores and tightening the skin.
Dermapen process offers a more economical solution compared to skin resurfacing treatments with laser or radiofrequency.
This method, which has been used since the early 1900s, is safely applied all over the world and is often preferred. In a study conducted in 2018, it was clinically proven that lines, wrinkles and skin laxity on the skin were significantly reduced at the end of the 3rd session for patients aged between 35 and 75 , and there was a significant improvement in skin texture.
Dermapen application is also very effective in the treatment of scars.
Dermapen Makers
It is a very preferred application by people who want to soften fine lines and wrinkles on the skin, increase collagen production , narrow the pores on the skin, and treat acne or scars.
Since it can be applied safely for all skin types, it is suitable for anyone who wants to renew and refresh their skin.
Although the application does not have any side effects or harm, it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It can also cause unwanted side effects or lesions if you have lupus or vitiligo.
Benefits
During the application, microscopic holes are opened on the skin, thus increasing the production of protein fibers, namely collagen, which keeps the skin smooth and flexible in the body.
- Removal of lines and wrinkles
- Treatment of pores
- Elimination of loss of elasticity
- Turning on the color tone
- Treatment of acne and scars
- Total skin regeneration
Since Dermapen application creates channels for easy absorption of topical products applied on the skin, it facilitates the application of vitamin serums containing the building blocks that the skin needs during the treatment and increases the effectiveness of the procedure.
How is it applied?
Before the application, the area to be treated is anesthetized by applying a topical anesthetic cream. After the skin is anesthetized, it is cleaned and dried. Then, an active serum is applied for the problem to be treated. (For example, salicylic acid for acne or vitamin C to regulate skin tone)
Disposable sterile needle cartridges that are opened specifically for the patient are attached to the tip of Dermapen devices. Before starting the process, the depth of the needle holes is adjusted on the device. In this way, it is possible to determine how deep to go under the skin in the area to be treated.
During the application, different depths are used depending on the skin type and the treated area. For example, the skin thickness on the cheeks is much thicker than on the forehead, so it is necessary to go deeper in the cheek area, while working more surface on the forehead area. Going deeper than necessary does not help. Therefore, it is necessary to perform the treatment at the ideal skin depth.
Apart from the depth, the number of passes over the skin also differs from person to person. In some skins and areas, two passes are sufficient, while in some areas 4-6 passes are required.
After treatment, a serum and cooling mask can be applied to help calm the skin. In some cases, it is combined with red LED therapy at the end of the treatment to accelerate recovery.
You can repeat the dermapen treatment 3 – 5 sessions with an interval of one month in order to have a livelier, brighter and smoother appearance on your skin. It can be combined with PRP, also called Vampire Facial, for a more powerful treatment.
PRP is used to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. In this way, you add another tool to delay the effects of aging. PRP is packed with growth factors that stimulate your cells to regenerate so you can get more collagen boosts.
